Overview
The Nyktos-M is an advanced, extremely modular, and feature-rich camera system designed to record POV video footage through your night vision device. The Nyktos-M attaches without tools to the ocular of the NV device of your choosing, and records up to 4K at 60 fps directly to a microSD card. The device is controlled through a mobile app on your phone, where you can view a live stream of the video feed, start or stop recordings, adjust the recording settings and resolution, and browse and transfer saved recordings to your phone over Wi-Fi.
Like its competitors, the Nyktos-M is, at its core, a shell for a commercial off-the-shelf MateCam SoC and camera module. What sets this device apart is its use of the latest MateCam X9 Pro. Many alternatives are made with older and cheaper models, even X7s, and the use of the newest hardware allows the Nyktos-M its superior 4K60 capability. It also allows for the inclusion of a 5G Wi-Fi antenna and the mobile app to take advantage of it. The user experience with the mobile app compared to a few physical buttons and LEDs cannot be overstated.

User-configurable resolution and frame rate in H.264 or H.265 format:

Wi-Fi connectivity and mobile app
Android and iOS apps for camera configuration, live viewing, and file transfer. 5GHz connection makes for quick transfer of large 4K video files.
Built-in battery (or not)
Integrated rechargeable 1,000 mAh battery pack is installed, but optionally removable. The Nyktos-M can be configured in minutes to operate purely via USB remote power for a slimmer, lighter package if desired. The internal battery provides about 2 hours of active recording.
USB-C connection
A female USB-C port is used to power and recharge the Nyktos-M, which can be done simultaneously with recording. It can also be used to access an installed SD card and transfer video or configuration files.
Unrivaled modularity
Modular construction allows user-replaceable parts for various configurations or repair in case of damage. The ring can be swapped out for alternative diameters and thicknesses to accommodate a variety of non-standard oculars. The camera arm can be replaced to optimize the lens position for height and eye relief.
Custom case
The Nyktos-M comes in an ABS plastic 3D-printed box customized to fit it exactly. The case includes the user manual, a USB-C cable, the screws and wrenches needed to disassemble or reconfigure the device, and a slot for a spare SD card.
Click-detent attachment without tools
A stainless steel thumbscrew with an adjustable click-detent is used to clamp the device to the night vision ocular. No wrenching in the dark required.
Carbon-fiber nylon construction
The housing is 3D-printed in an H2D Pro in PA6 CF filament and properly annealed in a salt immersion with an industrial temperature chamber. TPU gaskets throughout provide water resistance.

Compatibility
The Nyktos-M is currently compatible only with PVS-14 pattern rear lenses. Compatibility with APNVG, PVS-31A, and other devices is in active development.
